Connacht U16 Club Hurling Championship Semi Final Sat 21 Oct at 4:00

Athleague/Tremane v Tooreen, Ref: TBA in Athleague

Mayo U16 Hurling Champions Tooreen put their Connacht U16 Club Title on the line as they face Roscommon champions Athleague/Tremane in Athleague on Saturday next at 4.00. After last years Connacht Final victory over Galway B Champions Beagh, Tooreen will be looking to emulate last years run of success.

Tooreen qualified to represent Mayo after a one-sided final victory over Castlebar Mitchells in September last while Athleague/Tremane overcame close rivals Four Roads in the Roscommon decider last weekend. Tooreen, under manager Dom Greally, will be favourites to advance on account of their experience at this age group down through the years. Key players for Tooreen include Cathal Freeman (who played for the seniors against Ballyaunis last weekend), Kenny Feeney, Joe Ganley, Greg Henry and Michael Morley, while other players who will bolster the East Mayo side include goalkeeper Keith Jordan, John Hunt, Robert Lyons, Mark Waldron, Ciaran Charlton and Cillian Freeman.
