Mayo        2-13
Kerry        1-08
Mayo took the two NHL points on offer with a spirited performance against a lack-lustre Kerry side in blustery Castlebar.
Playing into a gale force in the opening half, Mayo laid the foundation for their win with a solid defencive display and went in at the half-time break only 1-6 to 1-2 in arrears of the Kerrymen. Michael Conway got Kerrys goal early on while Rory Campion converted Mayos three pointer.
The second half saw Mayo put over points from long range with dual player Keith Higgins converting 0-4 on the trot for Mayo and wing-back Ger Whyte register two white flags. Mayo played out the game at their ease and finished in style with a Paul Broderick goal with five minutes remaining.
