Connacht G.A.A Residential Academy Information

The Connacht G.A.A. Under 15 residential academy took place at NUI Galway sports ground from Tuesday 26th June to Thursday 28th June.  Ten Mayo Under 15 academy players participated and they were joined by a further ten from each of the Counties in Connacht and the New York Minor team were also in attendance
 
The players took part in fitness assessment, speed endurance, counter movement, strength and conditioning, core work, flexibility, diet and nutrition, skill assessment, defensive play, attacking play, midfield play and conditioned games.  They also received a talk on lifestyle given by Mayo Senior player Andy Moran and Galway Senior player Joe Bergin.
 
The Mayo players acquitted themselves very well throughout their three days.
 
The residential academy is the brain child of John Tobin, Director of Coaching in Connacht and John Prenty, Connacht Secretary.
