The cup on offer for the Mayo GAA Senior B final is the Martin O’Malley Memorial Cup, which was recently presented to Mayo GAA by the O’Malley family from Ballinrobe and the Moytura Hurling Club. The inaugural cup is a memorial to a young Moytura hurler Martin O’Malley RIP who died in 2009 at the age of 15 years. Martin O’Malley RIP played in the first ever Moytura U12 hurling match in 2006 on The Neale Pitch shortly after the clubs formation, and it is fitting that the cup in his memory will be presented at the same venue.
