Press Release www.mayogaa.com

Stephen Rochford and the Mayo management have announced their team to face Tyrone in the All Ireland Series Round 2 match this Saturday 31st May at 7pm in O’Neills Healy Park Omagh.

There is one change to the starting fifteen that played Cavan in Round 1 two weeks ago. Rory Brickenden Westport replaces Sam Callinan.

Mayo and Tyrone have met on six previous occasions in the championship, with their first coming in the 1989 All-Ireland semi-final, and their most recent in the 2021 All-Ireland final.  Mayo have won 4 of those meetings in 1989, 2004, 2013 and 2016, while Tyrone were victorious in 2008 and 2021.  Interestingly all six meetings were played in Croke Park.
Next Saturday evening, Mayo will play a championship game in Northern Ireland for the third time, following on from their 2007 loss to Derry in Celtic Park, and their 2019 victory over Down in Newry.
Stephen Coen will captain the team on the day.
The referee on the day is David Coldrick from Meath.
This game is streamed on GAA+ https://www.gaaplus.ie/matches/live
Live broadcast on Midwest Radio with commentary from Michael D McAndrew and Martin Carney
