INTERSPORT Elverys Mayo GAA Kit Launch

At the foot of The Reek, where Mayo’s spirit runs deep and unbreakable, INTERSPORT Elverys, in collaboration with the Mayo GAA County Boards, proudly reveal the county’s latest home kit.
The unveiling, set against the backdrop of Croagh Patrick, amid the characteristically brooding skies and gentle drizzle that so often blankets the West echoes the unyielding pride and resilience that defines Mayo GAA. This new jersey, set to be worn by players across all four codes—from the stars of tomorrow to our senior warriors—pays tribute to the unforgettable 1996/1997 design, reviving the iconic sleeve chevrons while blending modern elements like the signature three stripes from O’Neills.
The Portwest logo stands proud on both the men’s and ladies’ jerseys, with a fresh touch from Elverys.ie now emblazoned on the sleeve.
This year’s feature video, thoughtfully curated and captured by the team at INTERSPORT Elverys, seeks to evoke the deep emotional connection and unwavering passion that binds the people to their county and the GAA. It beautifully portrays the enduring love for the game, and a passion burning bright, regardless of the outcome.”
For Mayo, this is more than just a kit. It’s a symbol of the county’s unbroken tradition, passion, and relentless pursuit of glory. As our teams’ step onto the pitch, they will carry with them the weight of history, the pride of a county, and the burning belief that this is their time.
Seamus Tuohy, Mayo GAA Chairman
Welcoming the new Mayo GAA jersey Cathaoirleach of Mayo GAA Seamus Tuohy praised Elverys for their contemporary and creative design. “The new Mayo GAA jersey is always eagerly anticipated as it represents a people full of pride and passion for their county. The Mayo GAA jersey , tradition, community and camaraderie all wrapped up in one. I hope that this new jersey brings lots of success to all our county teams next year,” commented Seamus Tuohy.
Philip Staunton, Head Teamsports Buyer Intersport Elverys commented
“Intersport Elverys is excited to unveil the 2025 Mayo GAA home jersey. The design pays homage to the beloved jersey of 1996 and 1997 that captured the imagination of the Mayo public, while being unique enough for the current teams to forge their own legacy and be cherished by fans for years to come. The Mayo jersey stands as one of the most iconic in Irish sport, and we continue to support all four codes as title sponsor and the preferred retail destination of
Mayo GAA. Our strong ties to the community are exemplified by our newly expanded Castlebar warehouse which supports all our stores nationwide, including four located throughout Mayo. We wish all teams well for the coming season.”
Mayo LGFA Chairperson Des Phillips has said All of us here at Mayo LGFA are delighted to join forces with Mayo Camogie and Mayo GAA, in launching our new home jersey for 2025 along with our main sponsor Intersport Elverys who have been a great support to us over the past number of seasons.
We are also delighted to hear that Portwest are continuing their support for the forthcoming season and they will also be featured on the New Jersey.
It is a testament to the great work being done by these two local businesses, that they can continue to provide backing and support to our county teams proudly representing Mayo.
We look forward to watching our Male and Female athletes wearing the new jersey proudly in 2025 and beyond. Mayo Abú!
Rebecca Fahy, Mayo Camogie, Chairperson: A massive thank you for inviting us to participate in the launch of the new Mayo jersey. It’s a tremendous honour for two of our senior players to represent Mayo Camogie and promote our sport on a national level.
From Portwest Rachel Davoren, Managing Director of Portwest Ireland, commented “We are thrilled to once again feature the Portwest branding on the back of the Mayo jersey, for the third time. Our collaboration with Mayo GAA and Intersport Elverys has been incredibly well received by both our customers and colleagues over the past number of years. We are excited to continue building on this successful relationship. One of the standout moments from this partnership, was earlier this year when over 3,000 dedicated Mayo GAA fans rallied behind Portwest’s call to turn Times Square green and red in celebration of 10 years of Portwest in the USA, ahead of Mayo’s Connacht Senior Football clash with New York. The GAA is all about unity, and Portwest is proud to play a role in fostering that sense of community with Mayo GAA.”
From O’Neills, Alison Perry, Marketing Manager has said: “O’Neills is delighted to have worked with Mayo GAA and INTERSPORT Elvery’s on the 2025 Mayo Home jersey. The new jersey design pays homage to the Mayo jersey of 1996/97, an unforgettable era. The jersey is much more than just a retro look, we have blended tradition with innovation to ensure it meets the demands of today’s game, while staying true to the proud heritage of Mayo GAA. As the jersey is unveiled, we look forward to seeing the reactions of both players and fans alike. It will no doubt be an exciting year ahead for Mayo GAA and we wish them the best of luck for the season ahead.”
The new home jersey is now available for purchase at INTERSPORT Elverys stores nationwide and online at Elverys.ie. It is also available at oneills.com.
