U10’s Blitz’s Information

 

The U10 Mayo County blitz is on Saturday 6th at 11:00am in the Connacht C.O.E.  

 

U10 Blitz 2025

 

What to Bring

  • Bring your own footballs and a set of bibs in case of colour clash with other teams. We will be using goalposts on some pitches and poles for goal posts on others due to availability of goalposts. 
  • Each Club must supply a referee(s) from your coaching team. Name to be given to Bord na nÓg in advance of Saturday. (Please add to list of players to be supplied prior to start). 
  • If you have three teams, please name 3 refs and 3 head coaches. 
  • No dressing rooms will be available the main building will be locked.
  • Make sure and bring water, appropriate weather clothing, sunscreen, first aid kits, 

 

Teams will be assigned to a designated pitch for the duration of the blitz. If a child needs to go to the toilet they should be accompanied as there will be a lot of people onsite.

Pitch coordinator will be present to help on the day.

Selection has been based on the information provided to the Bord na nÓg this week. (Mixed or boys only teams).

Changes to the teams and format may change as some teams may pull out and some clubs may bring extra players. All are welcome.

 

 

Rules and Guidelines 

  • Games will be 15 minutes straight through. 
  • Each team to be an average of 8  to 10 players if possible.
  • Clubs to supply referee. 
  • No Dressing Rooms please come ready to play.
  • Please bring appropriate clothing for the weather. 
  • 2 plays of the ball allowed.
  • After a score, play restarts from the halfway line. 
  • All players MUST wear mouthguards/gumsheilds.
  • All first teams to be made up of mixed ability.
  • No keeping scores / Results.
  • Each team to get at least 3 games. 
  • Go Games National policy applies. 
  • Give Respect, Get Respect handshake after every game. 

 

 

Timetable

10/10:30am – Clubs / Teams Start Arriving & Register. The main contact on the day for the club (Team manager only) to sign in at the coffee shop. They need to provide their name, phone number and email address in case of emergencies.

10:30/10:45am – Teams go to their allocated pitches as per the draft above. Changes may happen on the day as teams pull out and extra players arrive.

11am – Match 1 – (A V B) -15 Mins plus 5 min break.

11.20am – Match 2 – (C V D) -15 Mins plus 5 min break.

11.40am Noon – Match 3 – (B V C) -15 Mins plus 5 min break.

12.00pm – Match 4 – (D V A) -15 Mins plus 5 min break.

12.20pm – Match 5 – (A V C) -15 min plus 5 min break.

12.40pm – Match 6 – (DV B) -15 min plus 5 min break.

1pm – Finish up, Tidy up.

Please ensure all your members attending get a copy of this email as we will not be printing it in advance to save paper.

We also want to welcome St.Brigids CLG from Roscommon who will be joining us for the Blitz.

Connacht GAA wish for us to tell you,

Parking across the road from the gate is prohibited. An Garda Síochána will tickets cars that are parked illegally.

Mayo GAA have provided stewards for assistance with parking.

If clubs can, please use carpooling and or busses.

The Cafe will be open during the event, but we ask that you bring water and sun cream. The weather may change, so please be prepared.

Toilets are available beside the Cafe.

DO NOT throw rubbish on the pitches or in car parks. Please use recycling waste locations provided in the grounds and at pitches.

NO dogs are allowed to be brought to the venue.
