Mayo GAA delegates have rubber-stamped plans to develop a new state-of-the-art all-weather 4G astroturf GAA pitch at Hastings Insurance MacHale Park. Mayo GAA outlined their vision and plans for the new 4G pitch at tonight’s County Board meeting in Castlebar. Speaking at the meeting, Mayo GAA Cathaoirleach Seamus Tuohy expressed his gratitude to delegates for their support.
“We have carefully examined all aspects of the project from design, planning, financial considerations and feasibility. It is crystal clear that the demand and need for a state-of-the-art, all-weather pitch is overwhelming. This development is about ensuring Mayo GAA has the infrastructure to support players year-round, at every level,” said Seamus Tuohy.
Seamus Tuohy also gave an assurance to the delegates that there would be no additional financial burden on the clubs to pay for this new facility.
The new facility at Mulvey Park will be located at the ‘Albany End’ of Hastings Insurance MacHale Park and will be complete before the start of next season.
